ABOUT RAID 0 ARRAYS

RAID 0 - STRIPED ARRAY

RAID 0 involves striping data at the block level across at least two disks with no parity data distributed.

Many people favor this level because it is easy to use and inexpensive to implement, However this level
should never be used for mission critical applications because it provides poor fault tolerance.  If one of
the disks fail, all of the data in the array is lost.

ADVANTAGES OF RAID 0 DISADVANTAGES OF RAID 0

Very easy to implement with its easy design

The failure of one disk causes data loss

No parity data means no wasted disk space

Not ideal for mission critical applications

Good read/write performance

RAID 0 ERRORS THAT CAN OCCUR

RAID 0 array failure
RAID 0 disk failure
RAID 0 failed
broken RAID 0
rebuild RAID 0 failed
repair RAID 0 failed
RAID 0 crash
SCSI disk error
disk failure
HDD failure
degraded RAID array
